Celebrating 20 Years

Maverick Homes' managing partner, Lee A. Hughes, celebrated 20 years in the homebuilding industry, by accepting one of the industry's most prestigious and meaningful awards. Home Buyers Warranty, the national leader in home buyer warranty coverage, recently bestowed upon Hughes its coveted "Elite Builder" status designation. This designation makes Maverick Homes one of very few homebuilding companies to ever achieve this honor. Company officials and business associates marked Mr. Hughes 20 years in business by sharing their thoughts on reaching this milestone. "Twenty years of continuous, uninterrupted business is absolutely remarkable in this day and time," advised banking icon Elsie Gunter. "I've seen many come and go, but Lee always seemed to adjust his business plan to changing market conditions," continued Gunter. Company Vice President, Kelly Millikan, a long time Maverick Homes employee shed some light on Hughes' business philosophy. "Mr. Hughes' belief that our employees all work with him and not for him has become a true culture for us to work in. He truly allows our staff to take total ownership of their area of company responsibility," advised Millikan.
